GVRP & StepsBio unveil new formulations R&D centre in Bengaluru
Purpose-built to address the most demanding formulation challenges
GVRP (GV Research Platform), a Hyderabad-based research organisation, has announced the inauguration of the GVRP StepsBio Research Centre (GSRC), a strategic collaboration with Bengaluru-based startup Steps Biosciences that marks a significant milestone in India's pharmaceutical R&D landscape.
Located within the 1BLR life sciences cluster Lifescapes in Bengaluru, the 15,000 sq. ft. facility is a dedicated Centre of Excellence for formulations research and development. GSRC represents GVRP's deliberate strategic expansion into high-complexity formulations, an area increasingly central to the global drug development pipeline and further cements Bengaluru's emergence as a premier destination for life sciences innovation.
With sterile formulation laboratories engineered for complex dosage forms, including liquid and lyophilised injectables, ophthalmic solutions, and otic products, the facility supports controlled processing environments, aseptic operations, and rigorous material flow segregation to meet the highest quality standards.
It also includes dedicated spaces for in-depth API characterisation, providing the scientific foundation for robust and predictable formulation development.
StepsBio is actively building AI and machine learning capabilities within GSRC to support predictive formulation design, accelerate screening workflows, and enhance analytical interpretation positioning the centre at the intersection of computational and experimental science.
